Design partners Jon Morrow and Al Tikkanen have crafted an intriguing challenge featuring ‘up hill and down dale‘ golf never before seen in the Thai Capital’s predominantly flat golf landscapes. Several holes feature play from elevated tees to fairways laid out in valleys below. Forested hills and waste areas with native grasses frame the most clearly visible golf holes in Bangkok. Nature will play its part – pockets of wetlands create wildlife havens and perhaps a new habitat for Open Bill Ibises which traditionally migrate annually from as far as India, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. Continuing the ‘eco-friendly‘ theme, Riverdale features Salam Paspalum on tees and fairways, and the latest ‘ultra-dwarf Miniverde‘ on greens. Multiple tee locations offer a challenge for all levels. Playing strategies are defined by numerous hazards from sprawling white sand faced traps and deep sod walled pits to sandy wastes dotted with dune grasses. The Design favours intelligent play, with risk and reward options presented boldly, or subtly, on most every hole. Winding its way through a truly dramatic 1400 rai former tin mine site in the heart of Phuket, Red Mountain is surely one of Asia’s most exciting new courses. The course has been cleverly routed to take advantage of a huge variety of landforms and dizzying elevation changes. Scars left from the tin mine era have been imaginatively incorporated into the overall scheme, creating a unique character at the same time as establishing an indelible link with an important era in the Island’s past. Designer Jon Morrow and co-designer Al Tikkanen, have created a highly strategic and challenging 6,900 yard layout to complement the shorter and gentler old Loch Palm Course. While the course is undoubtedly challenging, numerous risk and reward options create a fun playing environment, and exhilarating test of golf and a breathtaking scenic tour around a course destined to become a golfing landmark in the region.

Loch Palm Golf Course is located in Kathu province within Phuket in landscape surrounded by mountains, trees and waterfalls. The word ‘Loch’ originated from vast lakes and the famous ‘Loch Ness Monster’ in Scotland, also the country where the game of golf was born. Loch Palm Golf Club is well known for its relaxing atmosphere and breezy fairways lined with palm trees winding around Crystal Lake, the largest lake in Phuket. The course design allows golfers to have the choice of walking or using a golf cart from our fleet of 150 carts. A highlight of the course is the back nine which incorporates a mountainous layout and provided splendid views of the course and the island. Created originally from flat rice paddy fields to a hilly and undulating layout, Alpine Golf Club is one of Thailand’s finest golf courses. The course was designed by one of the world’s most renowned architects Mr. Ron M. Garl who built grass-covered hills on the vast flatlands, topped by hundreds of hand-picked trees and refined with high-grade sand. All these were aimed to introduce golfers to many unexpected golf challenges at Alpine Club. This championship layout measures 7,100 yards in length with par 72.
